Hawks Fail to Get Brand, Sign Lewis & Others
Rashard Lewis Signs Multi-Year Contract With Hawks Atlanta, GA - Just hours after Ryan Thompson met the media regarding Elton Brand's potential decision, he got a disappointing phonecall from NEM stating that Elton Brand would not be joining the Atlanta Hawks. Of course, the Hawks were very high on Brand and did everything they could to make him part of the roster, but in the end failed to do so. Thompson commented on the situation, "It's just part of the business. Of course we wanted him on our team, who wouldn't?" Thompson said, "We just have to move on. We still have a very talented team that is going to compete for the playoffs." Earlier in the week the signing of Rashard Lewis was announced...

Foye Stays! Foye signs a 62 million deal! With 3 days before the end of the NLL Free Agency Period, Indiana star guard finally decided to stay with Indiana signing a lucrative 5 year deal that projected him to earn close to 62 million in 5 years. It's been really a quiet two weeks for the star guard with teams anticipating that he'll stay with his mother team especially with the arrival of Z-Bo which pretty much sealed the deal. Indiana have shown their commitment to me since the time they got me and I'm happy I was given the chance to prove myself and also I want to thank them for realizing my worth. Besides I want to play with a guy like Z-Bo. This is going to be a helluva season for Indy, said the 2008-2009 Most Improved Player of the Year. Foye have improved every aspect of...

Sonics Insiders: All quiet on the Western front,
but not for long... Seattle is still waiting on the decision that can hugely improve their fotunes this brand new season, and hopefully for Seattle, it's a positive response for them, it's the signing of lithuanian bigman Zydrunas Ilgauskas that would mean alot both on and off the court for this franchise. Even though older, you can get some good mileage out of Zydrunas and he's a big guy with offensive skills on the block and outside, he's got a rebounding game and he's a shotblocker, an intimidating figure to say the least sporting a 7'3" frame and he can change the fortunes for many teams. Hi, this is Spencer Haywood back again for the Sonics Insiders. So why this team? Well simply cause Seattle is a franchise set up to win for many years, the average age is still very low for a playoff-team,...
